I went camping for the first time in December for my birthday. I really enjoyed being out in the open, looking for wood to start a fire and going to the lake to fish. I loved making s’mores and seeing Kais crawl around in the dirt, carefree. The stars at night were absolutely beautiful and the air smelled so clean. I know Maik loved it too because he has been asking when we will be back camping. He even started mentioning buying an RV after the trip because so many people were using them near our campground.
This was not the first time we’ve visited this idea of buying an RV. We went on this journey the beginning of last year. Tired of paying premium for a tiny apartment in Aventura, we thought we would buy an RV to live and use it to travel around the US, especially since I wasn’t working and Maik only works 2 weeks out of the month. After traveling to different RV dealerships, private sellers, different cities and searching all over the web, we ended up not purchasing one.
Why you ask? Because I believe Maik’s desire to buy a yacht is much stronger even though he keeps bring up the RV. He reminds me constantly of how Robinson Crusoe was his childhood idol. How he wanted to become a sailor and sail to remote islands and explore.
So now I ask him, ” Which one is it?” Will it be the RV or the Boat? We just came back from a big RV show in Tampa, FL two weeks ago and next month we will be going to the Miami Boat show. So will we be land lubbers or sea creatures? I guess it depends on Maik’s mood.
